Every year a team from the school year of 25 years ago is chosen and honored at the annual banquet as the Silver Anniversary Team. The Hall of Fame founders recognized the team concept should not be overlooked in the Hall plans, understanding that being a part of a team is one of the great benefits of high school athletics.  For more info on each of the honored teams, click on their school name.

--Omaha Westside boys & girls swimming teams, 1975-76 school year.

2001
--State championship girls basketball teams, the first winners in the modern era of the sport: Class A Lincoln East, Class B York, Class C Hastings St. Cecilia, Class D Shickley.

2002
--Ansley Class C2 Football Champions 1977, and Howells incredible run in Class C basketball,  1973-74-77-78.

2003
--Basketball champion Lyons, from Class C, 26-0 in 1978-79, a team that stands the comparison test with the best.

2004
--Filley boys basketball of 1978-79 and 1979-80 (27-0 each season) , coached by Eldon Johnson;  Hartington Cedar Catholic boys basketball (25-0) of 1979-80, coached by Bob Uhing. Lincoln East football (11-1) of 1979, coached by Lee Zentic.


2005
--
The 1980-81 state champion Grant football and boys basketball teams. The football team, coached by Hall of Fame coach Al Gaston, compiled an 11-1 record and won the state championship. The basketball team, coached by Tom Lawson and led by Hall of Famer Bill Jackman, went 26-0 to claim the state title.,,,The Fremont boys cross country and track teams, 1980-81, They won the cross country championship of 1980 and followed it up with the Class A state track championship in 1981. The teams were coached by Hall of Fame coach Jon Appleget. Scott Eary won the individual cross country championship in 1980.

2006--
Two state championship teams were chosen for the Silver Anniversary honorees in 2006, the 1981 football team from Grand Island Northwest, and the 1981-82 girls basketball team from Kearney High School.

2007
--
Wilber-Clatonia girls basketball: Led by Angie Miller, who averaged 22.7 points and 11 rebounds per game, Wilber-Clatonia went 27-0 and won the Class C state championship.   Wheeler Central girls track and field: Led by Hall of Famer Karlene Erickson, the Wheeler Central girls track team completed a four-year run that included a state runner-up finish in 1980 and Class D state titles in 1981, 1982 and 1983. The 1983 team scored 65 points, including three individual first places and a gold medal and the Class D state record in the 3,200-meter relay. Wheeler Central also finished second in the 400- and 1,600-meter relays. Wheeler Central scored 200 points in the district meet and 230 points in the conference meet. Columbus boys tennis: The Class B state championship team with a record 54 points included No. 1 singles winner Robert Sjohom of Finland, No. 2 doubles champions Brad Scheidegger and Clay Castner and No. 2 singles runner-up Martin Sipple. The team was 6-0 in duals and won every invitational.  See pictures on these teams.

2008--Omaha Central girls basketball, undefeated 1983-84 state champions; Crofton's boys and girls cross country, 1983-84 state champions; Henderson's 1983-84 undefeated state champions in football and basketball.  See pictures on these teams.
