Dick Davis, Omaha North (1966)—

World-Herald’s Athlete of the Year. High school all-stater and All-American as a senior. Averaged 10.4 yards per carry and since 1964 has held the Metropolitan Conference record for most touchdowns per game. A two-time undefeated state champion wrestler. Track standout. At University of Nebraska, was leading rusher and an all-conference running back, twice Academic All-Conference. Inducted in the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame. Played professional football with the Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints.
