Vince Aldrich, Lincoln Pius X

Began illustrious coaching career at Lincoln Cathedral in 1950. Won six-man state title in 1951. Began coaching at Pius in 1956. Thiry-five years coaching and teaching. Twenty-five winning seasons. Football record: 200-105-13. One of the most respected football coaches in his era. Won five state titles at Pius X. Lincoln’s Ralph Beechner coach of the year, Journal Star coach of the year. 1982 KFOR Radio Sportsman of the Year and Journal as co-coach of the decade. Athletic director at the school for years. School named its football stadium after him in 1978.
