Wheeler Central High School graduate (class of 1983) set a distance running standard from 1980-83 set yet to be matched in girls high school track. She won the gold medal four consecutive years in the 3200 meter run and never lost a high school race in the event. Her state record of 10:19 withstands the yearly challenge of the best in the state and still is some 12 seconds faster than any of the class records. Also won two gold medals in the 1600-meter run and helped her team win three consecutive Class D state championships.
