Bob Siegel, Fairbury

Class of 1973.--Burst onto the high school scene as a freshman during the 1969-70 school year with a scoring ability to rank among the leaders in the state.  Scored 31 points in his first high school game as a ninth grader.Key part of a Fairbury basketball era that produced three state tournament teams and two state championships. Finished career in 1973 with 2,337 points, an effort which ranks No. 3 on the all-time scoring chart. Played in major high school all-star game. Averaged 24 points a game throughout his career. Athlete of the Year. Outstanding lineman in football, weight man in track. Uniform number 51 retired by Fairbury High School. Played in 101 games and ranked 11th in career scoring during a good career at University of Nebraska.
