Fischer Lincoln Athlete/Coach. St. Edward Class of 1944. Ken was a six-man football star at St. Edward, receiving All-American honors in 1944. Played football at Nebraska. After graduating from Nebraska, Ken went into high school coaching, got a state champion at Oakland in 1951 and a state champion at Grand Island in 1978. His Grand Island teams were football playoff regulars. His career high school record of 214-69-9 is among the elite in the state. As much a Hall of Famer for coaching as for athletic contribution. Also coached at Hiram Scott and Omaha University, and was a consultant at UNL after retiring from teaching/coaching. Also had outstanding officiating career, working the state basketball tournament for several years. |
