Bobby Reynolds, Grand
Island Athlete. Class of 1949. Prominent on any listing of the best Nebraska athletes of the century. Excelled in football and basketball. Led football team in 1947 and 1948 to unbeaten seasons and mythical state champions. In basketball, teams he played on won two state championships and had a 44-1 won-lost record. Also a standout in track. At University of Nebraska, he led the nation in scoring as a sophomore. His college career was cut short by an injury. |
